Mallorca is typically Mediterranean with hot, dry summers in the high 20s (low 80s farenheit) and mild winters. The sea regulates extreme temperatures and pleasant sea breezes also prevent hot days from becoming too unpleasant. Mallorca experiences little rainfall, mostly tending to fall between autumn and winter.
From mountains to windmill dotted plains, tiny coves to long golden beaches, Mallorca has all you could wish for in a holiday destination. North-east Mallorca:
In the north east stand the towering peaks and plunging cliffs of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. Here you can explore a wealth of delightful little towns and enchanting villages with tiny, green-shuttered houses decked out with brilliantly coloured flowers cascading over ancient stone walls - Soller, Deia, Selva, Alcudia and Pollensa are excellent picture-perfect examples. On the coast, the traditional fishing village of Puerto Pollensa is an ideal location to relax at a waterfront bar or cafe as you watch the boats in the bay.
South-east Mallorca:
The south-eastern part of the island is just as picturesque as the north, with an abundance of pasture land and almond groves dotted with delightful rural farming villages such as Sineu, Felanitx and Manacor.
On the coast, Cala d'Or has a sophisticated marina filled with luxury yachts and a host of leisure activities and water sports such as sailing and diving. By contrast, Cala Figuera, along the coast, offers a gentle vision of days gone by as local fishermen bring home the catch and mend their nets on the old harbourside.

The Carthusian monastery at Valldemossa is home to an outstanding collection of paintings and sculptures, with works by Picasso, Francis Bacon and Henry Moore.
