These two houses, built on a hillside 800 metres above sea level, have an elevated position with wonderful views over the countryside and Alajero down to the sea. The land is cultivated in small terraces with fruit, fig trees and cacti. There is a small shop and two restaurants in the village and it is only a short drive to the coast at Playa de Santiago. The National Park of Garajonay, perfect for walkers, is nearby. The houses have been completely renovated to a high standard using wood and natural flagstone floors to retain their traditional Canarian atmosphere and they offer comfortable accommodation furnished with original Bali furniture. Casas Maria y Juana are approached via a rocky driveway with ample car parking space next to the houses, however due to the uneven terrain we do not recommend these properties for people with walking difficulties.
Minimum stay 5 nights.

Location
Alajero is a small, typical rural village of La Gomera. Located on the southern slopes of the island, only 9km from the sea at Playa de Santiago. The village enjoys a pleasant sunny climate but is 800 metres above sea level making it a little cooler than the coast with chilly evenings in winter. There are a couple of bars and restaurants in Alajero, which has a population of about 300, and this is a very quiet location that would suit those seeking a peaceful rural holiday. Natural attractions include the particular geology and fauna of the coastal area, and the calm, crystalline waters of the beaches at Santiago or Erese. One of the few specimens of the drago tree found on the island grows here close to Agalan. 9km Beach Pebbles Nearest town Alajero 35km Airport San Sebastian 35km Ferry port San Sebastian
